Coffee shop chain, Moscow
A coffee shop app: order ahead and a digital loyalty card
Every morning there was a queue at the counter, and paper “every tenth cup free” cards kept getting lost and told the chain nothing about its guests.

- Our part
- Design and a mobile app for iOS and Android

The problem
Twelve coffee shops in central Moscow, each with a ten-minute queue between eight and ten in the morning. Some people turned around at the door. The loyalty scheme ran on stamped paper cards that stayed at home, and the chain had no idea who its regulars were.
What we built
- A menu with photos and prices for the chosen shop, ordered for a set time
- Drink options on one screen: size, milk, syrups, an extra shot
- A loyalty card with a QR code instead of paper, points spent at checkout
- Order status and a walking route, with the order waiting on a pickup shelf
Screens
Swipe or tap a screen
Outcome
- coffee shops connected to the app
- from the first mockup to the app stores
- platforms from one codebase: iOS and Android
Stack
- React Native
- TypeScript
- Node.js
- PostgreSQL
- iiko API
- YooKassa
The morning queue is noticeably shorter: regulars order on the way and pick their coffee up from the shelf. And we can finally see who comes to us and what they drink.
